What We Believe

Our Values

With the end goal of reformation, revitalization, and reunification, we press onward in the hope of the Resurrection. Therefore, we promote H.O.P.E. for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.):

Holiness

In thought, word, and deed we are to live as God’s redeemed people, knowing we were bought with a price. Therefore, following our sinless Savior Christ’s example, we confront sin wherever it is found. In our own lives, this means taking head on the spiritual complacency that, as in love we are corrected and called to repentance, so too in love may we call others, both within and outside of our denomination, to walk in newness of life. Thus, together, we may cast down the idols we have fashioned for ourselves in whatever form they may take, whether  personal or cultural.

Orthodoxy

Receiving “the faith once delivered to the Saints,” we have a duty to deliver it anew without defining it anew. Thus, we uphold the authority of Scripture and the primacy of Christ at all levels of the Church.

Perseverance

Trusting that He who began a good work in us will bring it to completion, we persevere in the Spirit and  believe the promises of God to never abandon His Church. Thus, we do not abandon His Church and participate in the life of the Church—even when it is hard.

Evangelism

As sinners who recognize our need for, and the transformative power of, the Gospel, we share the “Good News” of Christ Jesus to all we encounter. For, “how can they believe without hearing about Him?”
